Nearing 10,000 posts... with a quite popular user name (can't brag, though; I just borrowed it)... I think I can bitch. Can't I?
My back is KILLING ME. So is my right ankle (been fubar for years) and my right heel (plantar fasciitis).
I have gained back weight. Not all of it, but enough to piss me off. I had to quit the clinic because it was too expensive.
There are too many cats in our house. My heart is too god damned fucking BIG and I am too freaking emotional. I have committed myself to this feral colony but sometimes it just sucks the life out of me.
I have no energy, largely because I'm obese but partly because of my depression and partly because I'm up at 5:30 AM and home at 7:30-8:00 PM each weekday (and commute an average of 3-3.5 hours).
Ho ho fucking ho.

12. Unless you can afford to live in the city (and are inclined to do so), |
|
don't ever move to the Washington, DC, area. We live outside the DC suburbs, in a rural area, and we both works just blocks from the White House.
It's only a 35-mile drive one way. Still, an average commute time, with good weather and no wrecks or other backups, is 1.5 hours. And days with no backups are rare.

My husband used to commute into DC each day. Would leave the house at 4-5 am and not get home until 8 or 9 pm. It sucked.
Not sure what the mileage is, but I know it was a long commute. We're outside of Baltimore.
I hope you're feeling better soon.

Sounds like you are tired and need some serious rest. When I'm tired, it seems like my whole life sucks.
Is there ANY way for you to unplug and get some extra rest?

I work about eight miles from my home and last night it took me over an hour to get home (hello, fellow 520 commuters! :hi:).
I always recommend gentle yoga for the back pain, and even for the plantar fasciitis (that hurts like hell, I know). I'm always pushing the www.yogajournal.com site for good poses for relaxation and energy, or maybe even your local library has a video or DVD you can borrow. Good luck to you. And I hate this freaking crazy-assed time of year too. :(

19. Not trying to be glib or anything |

but cognitive therapy is very successful. I am serious. It differs from traditional Freudian type psychotherapy in the sense that it focuses on results and the patient is active in the solutions. Perhaps if you could elevate your mood through re-uptake inhibitors you would respond to it. In any respect, hope things get better.
