Who here plays online poker?
Mostly curious. I played at Party for a while but my account is bone dry, wondering who had similar luck.

1. Have spent some time there...
...if your account is 'bone dry' and you played with FAKE money you can easily get more and keep playing. :)

If you were playing with Real Money...count your blessings and move on.

18. have you ever played on Yahoo????
I love it but haven't done much lately, simply because I spend too damn much time here!!!LOL

I am a below average player but do enjoy it, I have played off & on since I was about 9 or 10. It was a favorite game around my area and my parents even played in a couples Canasta club for years.

Do you do Yahoo IM?

20. I have to go out of town for a day, but will check this out on Sat
when I return.
That would be fun. I usually end up in foursomes because I like that better, if you are willing to hang around you can usually get a foursome together.

I am cavewoman76133 on yahoo.

4. My wife used to play a lot-not for money though
She was really good. I doubted her as she was just playing for "fun" but we went and played with some friends a few months ago and won almost everything. She is GOOD!

5. my husband and I both play real money
Speaking strictly for myself, I was pretty pitiful at first and lost my ass. However, practice has improved my game. I think I am probably even and working my way to profitability at this point.

Playing "play money" can be helpful if you play low stakes games.
Playing real money seems to be more meaningful because you are actually losing/winning a tangible thing.

I love to play cards, and I have taken the time to learn about whatever game I have been interested in. I did it with blackjack, and I did it with poker. A lot of patience helps, too.

Just my two cents.

6. Number one mistake in online poker
Playing too many hands. I have no problem folding marginal starting hands when I play live, but for some reason I play those same hands on the PC...

You need to focus on staying TIGHT when you play online.

8. I'm a regular in a "medium-stakes" game ...
(a really big pot would be between $150 - $200), but I need to be able to see the other players' eyes in order to feel comfortable with my game.

11. I have played party but there are tons
These are some sites that give you 10.00 real money .You do not have to deposit to get it.Just sign up.On crazy poker does require you to reg a credit card. They do not sell this info its safe.I have used it.Though I did call my credit card company to make sure crazy poker didnt charge my account.
here are some of the sites
www.pacificpoker.com
www.7sultans.com
www.crazypoker.com
www.royalvegas.com
www.tropicspoker.com
if you google poker sign up bonus no deposit you will find alot more.
hope this helps.
I have won on pacific pokers site using their free money.

14. If you haven't yet, check out Pokerstars
It's by far my favorite online site.

The pacing of the games is quite good.

However since you didnt receive yours I would not be shy in asking support at pacific for your new user sign up.
I agree with previos post.Pokerstars is a very good site. They have a great selection of free money games.I love their sit and gos (real and fake money)
Not too much on bonus there though.

13. I play largely tournies or sit and gos .
I have won most of my money online in sit and gos.I do however enjoy the daily freeroll tournies (usually a 200.00 pot) texas hold em.
This is really good pratice for the tech side of poker.
It helps you learn to focus on the cards without the distraction of live persons.I found my live games improved greatly after playing online.I work online so I multitask.I admit to 1000 hands a week.
However most of them are for play money on pokerstars.com
