What's The BEST Christmas/Holiday Present You've Ever Gotten?
As for me, it was when I was 17, and got a snowboard for Christmas. And now....it's the laptop that I got last Christmas that I'm using now.

22. I got a Christmas present like that too.
Two of them, actually. My second daughter was born December 28, 1999 and my son was born January 6, 2002 - juuuuust in time to be another "Christmas" baby.

(With my daughter, I was glad she came when she did. With all that Y2K talk going on, I didn't want to be in the hospital on December 31, 1999! The whole pregnancy people kept asking me if I was going to have "the millennium baby.")

24. both my girls are Christmas babies
My oldest was born December 20 and two years later my second was born December 27.
The coolest was coming home from the hospital with my first and my husband had set up and decorated a real tree in our tiny appartment as a surprize for me. It was beeeautiful with white lights and red ribbons. There was even a cashmere dress that was a size 12. (Riiight, like that would ever fit me!) Aaaawww, thanks for reminding me of that. Warmed me all over. :loveya:

12. The Best and the most wonderful:
1981: My wife got me a Minolta X700 with a 50MM lens. Awesome camera which I still use.

1988: Spending the day with my mother during her last Christmas. Looking south out of her living room window at my parents horses as the snow fell. She wanted to be home when she died (of cancer). She was in and out of consciousness but we decorated the house like she always did and her day was wonderful. She died on 31 January 1989, but her last Christmas was at home and with family.

21. An incredible instrument
I've clunked around with it out in the woods and have taken some incredible pictures with it. I have semiretired it and am now more reliant on autofocus because of my old eyes but I will take that X700 with me to my grave. I hope you have many more years of excellent service from your excellent gift.

13. The Atari Xmas
Although I got mine a few years after everyone else had theirs.

Actually I take that back, the year when I got the Lego Auto Chassis set was the best. Of course Expert Lego is THE best toy ever.

Third place was the 300 baud modem for my C-64, back in 83 or so.

18. I was going to say that.
And mean it. Got it for my birthday, after seeing it at the local hardware store and craving it for months. Mom thought I was too young, Dad got it for me.

Never shot my eye out with it, either. :)
