Freddie Mercury - I hope he is in the Lap of the Gods
What an amazing singer!! My greatest regret is never seeing Queen live in concert before Freddie Mercury passed away

1. He is. Even my mom loves queen. What a damned shame he's
gone.

4. oh I loved him
he is my number one most-regret-never-seeing. What a queen, what a showman. Those eyes, those teeth, that VOICE. I remember Brian May in an interview saying even when they were a dirt poor band Freddy still acted the same, strutting around like he owned the world. LOL.

5. saw them once in Chicago in 1980
First concert I ever saw and nothing has compared since. They were all such showmen, but Mercury just drew in the crowd and kept everyone moving at breakneck pace.

6. There will never be another like Freddie, ever
My 10 year old loves Queen, my idiot neighbor tells her he just doesn't like them and she says "there music is complex, i can why you don't get them.'
I was so proud of her.

7. I was driving home from a friend's when I heard on the radio he'd died
All I could think was, "Damn it. That incredible voice...stilled forever." One of the all-time great voices, imho.

9. Amen.
I cried and cried when he died. Everytime I hear "Keep Yourself Alive" I think, "But you didn't!"

He had one of the best voices ever. There is a really long list of people I wish I had seen, but they are definitely on it. RIP.

11. I'll never forget
How cadaverous he looked in one of his last videos, "I'm Going Slightly Mad." He even rose up out of a coffin. A month later, he was dead. It seemed such a terrible loss. He would have fit right in to Herman Hesse's Steppenwolf as one of the Immortals. Not just a great singer/songwriter: he was one of a kind.

12. He was far-too-good for this world. Maybe he was a beautiful, horny angel
...Escaped from paradise and wringing every last joy from simply BEING....ALIVE.

Freddie could make you gasp, laugh and cry in the same song.

We were blessed to have him even for that Too-Short-a-Time.

Any Way the Wind Blows.
