Wow, he just does not come across that way. The M*A*S*H episodes he wrote and directed are so "democratic" in their take on social and war issues.

It does seem like they're going for him. Hell, they're not gonna have Hoynes or Russell (the fictional former VEEp and Veep).
Personally, I'm not against the idea of the West Wing switching to a Republican administration IN THEORY. Shows do tend to calcify, esp. with the same cast, so it'd be a whole new show with a whole new perspective.
But not with W in office! This is our alternate universe! Please! Don't do this yet!

remember the scene where he responed to a question about whether or not he was "Republican enough"? Maybe they'll use his character to show how extreme the Republicans have become.
