1. Seriously,
this is not a rhetorical question and I'm in no way dissin' felines but what IS it about cats that makes people so gaga over them? The photos posted here are way better than any I've taken of my lazy dog soooo, is it a photography thing? Oh, maybe it's that cats do better with props in photos than dogs - that it? Is that you can pick them up and cuddle them (when they let you) unlike an unwieldy German Shepard?

3. Oh no, no, no, dogs have at least equal gaga potential
My miniature schnauzer is every bit as cuddly and photogenic as these kitties. Trust me.

Of course, I've never even had a cat, so I'm not necessarily an expert on feline mystique.

4. So, it IS the size
and cuddle factor. Hmmm, note to self: adopt smaller pooch.

5. Also ease of care
Cats are really easy to care for. They sleep 16 hours a day. They don't need to take a walk. They use a litter box that you have to clean out every two days.
At the same time, they show real affection, are pretty and cuddable, and have nice soft fur.
It's easy to like a package like that

7. Yes -- two
I'm not sure whether your posting meant that you did not think cats were really like that or that you thought my enthusiasm about them was a bit much.

Either way, I have two neutered Toms and they're great.

16. They are not typical cats if that's the way they act.
I've got 6.

8. Okay, I'm sold!
I had a cat as a teenager who'd leap onto my shoulder whenever I came home and purrrrr. He also leapt on the chest of all strangers entering the house so he was a pretty good attack animal as well!

13. its because cat people have STRONG feelings about cats

10. Meet Leo, he's a four-month old Ragdoll
He belongs to one of my employees and he's our new store mascot. Here he is posing with some cute New Year's Eve martini glasses. :D

12. And are the glasses still all in one piece?
Any one of my cats would have knocked them all to the floor in the time it took me to take a picture.

14. Leo is a master of grace and gentility
He loved walking around those glasses, but he especially loved the gold-leaf champagne flutes on the adjacent shelf. He's hilarious. When he was a tiny baby, he loved to be held, and now he loves chasing Styrofoam packing material. :D

15. He's wonderful
I wouldn't be surprised if people come back to the shop just to see him. That should help sales.
