How do health insurance benefits compare across states??? |
|
One of my coworkers who just moved to WA state last year is forever complaining about our health insurance and saying if she could find a job with better coverage she'd leave in an instant.
But as far as I know we have among the BEST packages I know of. Work covers the entire cost of the premiums, there are 2 options - Group Health or a broader plan that includes Group and others. Copays are minimal - $15 per visit, I'm pretty sure, and the lowest prescription copays I know of.
I don't think she'll find ANYTHING better in WA state, but I wonder how this compares to other states.

I'm single. I pay $140 a month (which goes up in January, with no increase in pay--we're on a pay freeze, and have been for 3 years). Co-pay? I wish. My doctor's office charges $55 for a visit, I pay $35. Meds? They used to cost me around $2250$275 a month. Now I pay $150. I'm on the more expensive plan, only because it is the only one offered that covers mental health visits. However, we DO have a rockin' vision plan, and decent dental coverage.
Maybe I should move to WA!

I have medical, dental, vision care and prescription benefits. I only pay $63 per month. My co-pay is $15 and I take 4 prescription drugs at a cost of $95 a month. I have life insurance, which pays out equal to my yearly salary should I die anytime soon. My salary sucks, but the benefits are great.
