Man killed after falling out of moon roof of his moving car
<snip>

SCOTTSDALE - A man apparently fell to his death out of the moon roof of his moving Mercedes Benz early Wednesday evening.

Witnesses told police the man opened the moon roof near 64th Street and Camelback Road, rose up and stretched out his arms. He then fell out of the vehicle and died on the side of the road.

The car continued on until it hit a stopped vehicle at 68th Street. Police found the man dead 300 yards away from the car.

The Mercedes was traveling east on Camelback at about 60 mph when it struck a Dodge Neon waiting at a stoplight, said Officer Sam Bailey of the Scottsdale Police Department.

He said no one else was injured in the crash and police do not yet know the man's identity.

2. UPDATE
The guy was CFO for the city of Phoenix.

Just heard it on the radio in the car. Forget his name, though.

5. I suspect it was a bizarre suicide.
The injuries to the person in the stopped car are non-life threatening, btw.

9. This is the update to the article.
The city of Phoenix’s longtime finance director died in Scottsdale after falling or jumping from a moving car.

Witnesses told police that Kevin Keogh, 50, climbed onto the top of his moving Mercedes-Benz, stretched out his arms and then jumped or fell from the car on Wednesday.

The car continued driverless until it crashed into another car. No one else was injured.

Investigators don’t yet know whether the death was intentional, but the cruise control was apparently set at 50 mph. The medical examiner will determine if drugs or alcohol were involved.
