3. He's been extremely unlucky. |
|
In his first term he inherited a recession so bad that economists didn't know there was a recession until March in his first term.
Then to make matters worse, he'll begin his second term having inherited a recession from the previous presidency.

5. Everything is Clinton's fault |

The Clinton economy was just so weak and on such a downturn that there was no way Bush could recover in a measly 8 years. Therefore, we must restore the economy by increasing presidential term limits indefinitely, because Bush's policy will only start working after 16 to 20 years :). I'm all for it. ... If I hear "we're making progress" or "we've turned the corner" on this topic in 4 years, I honestly think my head will explode.

Turning an economy around.
Of course...when Bush and Cheney started bad-mouthing the economy during the 2000 campaign...when it hadn't even BEGUN to go sour yet...now That was a turn-around! That they could manage...the markets run on emotion as much as anything else...talk negative...people think negative...and the market begins to wobble.

9. Cheese-eating surrender monkeys, perhaps? |

Or someone more likely to not be able to respond to his virilence and ensuing bombing campaign...
