Poll question: Britney Spears or U2?
I know...but some people actually put them on the same musical plane?!? What is this world coming to?

1. Same musical plane? ???
I want to run
I want to hide
I want to tear down the walls
That hold me inside
I want to reach out
And touch the flame
Where the streets have no name
I want to feel sunlight on my face
I see the dust cloud disappear
Without a trace
I want to take shelter from the poison rain
Where the streets have no name

Where the streets have no name
We're still building
Then burning down love
Burning down love
And when I go there
I go there with you
It's all I can do

5. My favorite U2 song:

PRIDE (in the name of love)

(from The Unforgettable Fire)

One man come in the name of love
One man come and go
One man come, he to justify
One man to overthrow

In the name of love
What more in the name of love
In the name of love
What more in the name of love

One man caught on a barbed wire fence
One man he resist
One man washed on an empty beach
One man betrayed with a kiss

In the name of love
What more in the name of love
In the name of love
What more in the name of love

(nobody like you...)

Early morning, April 4
Shot rings out in the Memphis sky
Free at last, they took your life
They could not take your pride

In the name of love
What more in the name of love
In the name of love
What more in the name of love
In the name of love
What more in the name of love

I get choked up every time I hear that song...

could have made the bad smell go away quicker, if he has asked her to cross her legs instead :)

12. What Lenin said:
If I have to chose between pest and cholera: I don't vote at all.
The most stupid and tasteless guys on earth and a 20 year old frigid puritan Blair-Girl with plastic tits....
I'm into opposition, fundamental...

15. No, no, no...
First there was U2 with their Jesus nonsense, later there was Bush.

U2 did just take everything out of punk and new wave they didn't understand and translated it into the worst mainstream popmusic ever produced on this entire planet. And then they did add Jesus. And when it became to ridiculous, they tried to become "avantgarde", using Eno and Borroughs etc. And this was even more ridiculous.

And then Jesus Bono told the world in 2002, that Bush would save the poor.

I don't want to fuck Bono, I don't wanna talk to Britney...

17. list the songs that had a religious theme
out of the thousands of other themes, and why would one try to stifle their creativity? Who are you to censor them? You just want an argument about a band you decided to hate a long time ago, and most likely know nothing about them.

14. I was gonna click U2
Until I saw the pic of Britney. I don't think U2 would look as cute in hiphuggers.

Besides, I hated Bono's bug glasses.

16. Heres some stupid and tasteless stuff: N/T

Um, yeah, very stupid and tasteless.

hmm....

"If I could, through myself
Set your spirit free"

Also very tasteless :eyes:

Perhaps dirk will find this last lyric most helpful of all, tasteless though he may find it:

"To touch is to heal, to hurt is to steal. If you wanna kiss the sky, better learn how to kneel"

yeah real talentless bastards ;) {/sarcasm}

18. Don't take it personal...

but for me it's just what the Bassplayer of Siouxie and the Banshees did say: when I firsat saw U2, I knew that I was part of another failed revolution. This was even worse than all the hippies we did hate.

With their stadium rock-hymns. With their leather-jackets, spending 1000ths of dollars to let them look old. With their lawyers offending independent musicians, who dared to say how ridiculous U2 is.

I even understand their lyrics: Where the streets have no name???
Might be New York, where the streets have numbers?!

Shelter from the poison rain???
Huhhhh, that's a tough question!

If U2 would be really stupid, if they would be Deep Purple or Black Sabbath, I might would like them.

But this mixture of middle-class stupidity and half-understood avantgarde... mixed with an incredible arrogance...
Give me Britney...

U2 is the DLC of rock-music.
