My Heisman prediction--Jason White; and now my Orange Bowl prediction:
USC by a LOT, and Matt Leinhart plays superbly, while Jason stinks, proving, yet again, the Heisman is simply a bunch of hype and there is no accurate way to predict who is the best college football player.

In fact, all predictions are worthless, except mine, of course! :)

1. Okay
I'll take you on. :)

Leinart will win the Heisman, and we'll see a game with two Heisman winners going after each other, one future Heisman winner (Peterson) and one potential (maybe) future winner (Bush).

USC has not faced a defense as physical and quick as OU's. Leinart will frequently be on his butt. OU's defense hits hard and doesn't get tired. They will wear down USC's offense by the fourth quarter.

Jason White has poise, patience, and will have a good day. Peterson will keep plugging away until he breaks a few long ones.

The Sooners will win by ten points.

How's that for some smack! ;)

2. Oooooh!
Anyway, I'm still going with USC, and with my die-hard belief that we need a play-off system.

P.S. Jason White really needs to get his teeth fixed. :)

6. I don't know if they could, but I think they deserve a chance...
...so does Utah.

5. You know, if he does, people will just shrug and say the exit
polls for White were wrong!

9. I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong!!!!!!
It's a new sensation for me!

Posted this before my 5 hour flight, and now I find out I was wrong!

You know, Jason winning last year went against him because I think there's the mentality that if you won, you damn well better be head and shoulders above the rest the next year. He wasn't--you could make an argument that he was the best, but you can't say that others aren't close.

Interesting article in the NY Times today about this--apparently the guy the trophy was named for did not want to have his name associated with it. Not sure if after he died, they said screw him, and named it for him anyway.

10. Jason was too old to win twice
Edited on Sun Dec-12-04 12:15 AM by goodbody
to pick him again would demean the OU team. How could a Heisman like him get sacked like he did to cause his collegiate injuries at OU all those years? Now, Jason is playing at an age level years beyond his contemporaries...

Jason was lucky he won the Heisman last year -- after OU melted down during the Kansas game. OU didn't even win their division.

11. I think when USC barely got by UCLA, and then OU obliterated Colorado,
that would sway the voters. Apparently not.

Anyway, it was pretty amusing that he won the Heisman last year, and then plays like crap in his final two games.
