Poll question: How much money do you spend per child for holiday gifts?
Do you set a budget per person or per child for the holidays? We do & Mr. Cornfield and I got into a big fight about it last night. (He thinks I've budgeted too little for everyone, including our own children.)

How much do you spend on average per child?

2. I spend WAY more on the kid than everyone else.
But I only have the one.
Everyone else's gift is running about 20-30 bucks I think.

Because of budget constraints I'm not getting some people what I REALLY want to get them.
You go into Christmas with the money you have, not the money you want.
:silly:

3. Don't tell my kids -- but I will also pass off necessities as gifts
Clothes especially. They keep doing this growing thing - so new clothes are always needed so they get them as gifts!

4. We spend
$100 per child. This year, the plan has been to buy only house related things because money is tight and our house is still in the throes of remodeling. But we're not sure there will be a christmas this year, so we'll have to wait and see.

5. My kids have 4 parents and 8 grandparents so I restrain myself
My kids have so many people buying for them that it's almost disgusting.

Over the last couple of years I decided to just restrain myself and buy them fewer presents myself because they get much more than is reasonable.
