yeah, I've been taking Darvocet. Nice stuff. Still a bit painful, though - doesn't take it out completely.

|
Are you out of the hospital?
Couldn't get it from your post. You said "Being in the hospital sucks" don't know if that was past tense or not.

Man, I could give them a hint or two.
One - do you really have to wake people up every frickin' hour on the hour to take vitals? I'm trying to SLEEP! And I can't move or turn or adjust my pillow or anything, and getting to sleep is a blessing!
Two - if you're going to have a conversation about how tired you are, don't do it outside my fucking door! Yes I can hear everything!
Three - And those phones - do they have to be turned up full volume? RING RING RING all night long.
Four - the food wasn't all that bad. Really. I had a pretty good piece of pizza
Five - When I came out of post op and you went over those instructions on using the bed and how to call the nurse - I was REALLY REALLY out of it! Could you run that stuff by me one more time?

23. It started with a general discomfort feeling. |
|
Honestly, I thought I was just constipated. I'd been at a convention for about three days, and sometimes that can be - ahem - an issue for me. But about 4:00 p.m. it started getting a lot more painful, focused on the right lower abdomen. By 8:00 I was on the floor moaning. Called the nurse, she told us to get into the emergency room. Had a CAT scan that confirmed inflammation. Set up surgery and was in pre-op by 2:00 a.m.
It happened really fast.

27. Not really "sick". Just felt WRONG somehow. |
|
I guess that's pretty common with appendicitis - it can show up in lots of different ways - pain in the back, chest, sides, fever, flu-like - I didn't have any of that. Just an intensely full bloaty feeling and sharp pain when I touched my lower right abdomen.

its "medical waste" and you really have to push if you want any of YOUR body back! I got my gall stones but they would'nt give me the bladder. My son had to have an appendectomy because he swallowed a watch battery and that is where they thought it lodged - they missed the battery and still wouldn't give us the appendix. Hard to get your stuff back from the hospital....

"Yellow Jello".
Not lemon, not pineapple, just "yellow"

you are feeling better. I had mine removed in 1954, when I was all of 3 years old. At the time, I was the youngest on record in Indianapolis for having an appendectomy.
That's a hell of a claim to fame...ain't it? Oh well, you go with what you got.
Good luck!

My hubby had his out when he was in high school. Big incision, many days in hospital. I have three little cuts (but they still hurt like hell), and was out in two days. Most are out in one. We've come a long way.

|
I know that's spelled wrong, but the one where they make a few itty bitty incisions instead of a great big one.
Glad you're feeling better!
