7 down, 6 to go!
Today was the halfway mark, and our first of two double-performance Saturdays.

We had an incident with one of the kids in the cast. He was messing around downstairs and was late for his cue, and he ended up bruising his knee in the stairwell. He missed just one small scene (Schwartz for fans of the film), which was his last one anyway. The other kids did just fine covering without him.

At the time, we thought he may have tore some ligaments or worse. His mom took him to get x-rayed at the doc's, and it was luckily just a bruise. He was back in time for the 2nd performance. We had already made contingency plans for doing scenes without him (the actor playing Farkas would wear different clothes and play Schwartz at the pole scene).

This is the second Saturday since we opened and it was plagued like last week, lol.

Our break between sets was spent eating pizza in the green room and then going outside to watch the annual xmas parade, which runs right by the playhouse, so we had good seats, lol. One of the young girls in the play was also in the parade, so she had triple-duty today. :-)

What a day. Word was the press was there at one of the shows either last night (still our best so far) or today (which was generally okay), so I will be checking for reviews.

Whew! I think I'll have a beer.

1. This is very cool. Are you acting?
Directing? What's your role in the production?

I miss the theater. I found that the nicest, most fun, most interesting people were in the theater. Sigh.

The play sounds like it's been a great success! With the snow storms, the bruises, the extra duty!

Keep On Carrying On!!

congrats.

15. I am SORE
Plus, I am pissed I left my shirt there and forgot to bring it home to launder. I remember everything else! I hope it doesn't stink, lol. I also hope Gary (stage mgr) doesn't freak because he lectured the boys last night about not hanging up their costumes, lol.

I am beat to hell. But I think I'll get through today okay. It's all a blur!

18. We have Febreze in the dressing room
It didn't help Mother the other night when her shirt was smelly. (They promised to dry clean but didn't - I was smart to take my home). Phew!

I have to go to the store after work tomorrow, and also shop for the family we adopted at work - I am buying a few clothes for the 8 year old boy in the family - large Mexican immigrant family. Plus, I am getting my nephew some things... and I have to shop for the person I drew in Accounting for secret Santa. I won't really have any time I feel is mine until the evening of the 20th.

Yeah, I got the emails, and I am not fond of re-reading my own words. It's like instant nostalgia... ugh!

19. If you have a 'Ross' store there it's a good place to get clothes
for kids. That's where I go for the kids' clothes for that program I told you about. Good warm jackets for a decent price etc.

speaking of Ross.. I'm off to be tortured shopping.

Have a good day and break a leg!

20. We have a Ross
I went in there once and it scared the hell out of me. :scared:

I think Kohl's will work, they have good sales, and the teeming, filthy masses of Ross won't scare me off. Or Target, that could work.

It's going to be 62 today! There may not be much snow for you to see... except on the peaks.

I watched the movie last night and laughed until I cried, as I always do. I was thinking of you as I watched - the Old Man is such a great character. Keep up the good work! :toast:
