Clay Aiken fans, here you go
For the Clay Aiken fans, I guess...

http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/news/columnists/10372010.htm?1c

"And I have a zero-tolerance policy for Hollywood heavies pulling ego trips on teenagers and teachers.

Which is what happened last week when the Gloucester County school's vocal group got the opportunity of a lifetime to sing with Aiken at his sold-out concert in Washington Township.

By night's end, the Claymates had been bullied and berated. They were stiffed for their services.

When one grown-up dared to speak up, Aiken dressed her down."

1. I just wonder...
Who is Clay Aiken and why did I not watch his Christmas Special on tv the other night?

Is he like great or something?

5. No, he's not "like great or something"
Clay Aiken was a geeky North Carolina man who sang in the shower.

Then Faux introduced its karaoke show "American Idol" and Aiken tried out.

I see American Idol as a bastard cross of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and what happens in ten million hotel bars every Friday night. They made Clay right pretty, I'll tell ya that. They gave him a haircut he never in a million years would have had the courage to choose for himself, started dressing him better, just turned his whole image around.

And the newly-pretty Clay, armed with a library of crowd-pleasing pop hits, came in second on American Idol. Second appears to be the spot you want to shoot for--except for this Fantasia wench, all of the people who really parlayed their American Idol work into some measure of success have been the runners-up.

Now he's the hit of the State Fair circuit, his second album is a Christmas album (those generally sell really well--"Oh My God! Here's Clay Aiken Singing I'll be Home for Christmas; I must get it and put it in rotation next to my recordings of Whitney Houston, Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, George Jones, Merle Haggard, J-lo and Mariah Carey singing I'll Be Home For Christmas.") and he sells like fifty CDs every second.

He's a totally manufactured Musical Phenomenon, which is something that has never been tried before. They tell me he has to pay 50 percent of all of his earnings to the American Idol organization for "discovering" him, but I think he can live on half of a quadrillion dollars.

4. I'm a Clay Aiken Fan...
...or at least I was until I read this article. Yuck. I am so disgusted with his behavior.

I liked him cause I thought he was better than the rest of Hollywood, that he knew what it was like just be to the 'common man'.

Yuck. Yuck. Yuck.

I can't believe he let himself become such a Diva. He was one of those 'aspiring musicians' once upon a time, can't he remember that?

Grr...
