Disposable Heroes
Went to see Metallica at MCI Center in October, as they made a non-pop bullshit record, and I felt obligated to reward them for not putting out pop bullshit for the first time in 14 years.

Of course, the majority of people there seemed to be natural conservatives.

It is interesting, then, that Metallica pulled out Disposable Heroes for one of the encores, which apparently they had been doing often on this leg of the tour.

For those that are not familiar with the song, they lyrics are:

Bodies fill the fields I see, hungry heroes end
No one to play soldier now, no one to pretend
running blind through killing fields, bred to kill them all
Victim of what said should be
a servant `til I fall

Soldier boy, made of clay
now an empty shell
twenty one, only son
but he served us well
Bred to kill, not to care
just do as we say
finished here, Greeting Death
he's yours to take away

Back to the front
you will do what I say, when I say
Back to the front
you will die when I say, you must die
Back to the front
you coward
you servant
you blindman

Barking of machinegun fire, does nothing to me now
sounding of the clock that ticks, get used to it somehow
More a man, more stripes you bare, glory seeker trends
bodies fill the fields I see
the slaughter never ends

Why, Am I dying?
Kill, have no fear
Lie, live off lying
Hell, Hell is here

I was born for dying

Life planned out before my birth, nothing could I say
had no chance to see myself, moulded day by day
Looking back I realize, nothing have I done
left to die with only friend
Alone I clench my gun

I have to say props to Metallica for challenging their audience in wartime. Every artist should do it, especially when their audience is red-leaning.

year and a half in the life of Metallica. There is a clip of Kirk saying fuck George Bush. It was Bush 41 but its a universal message.

5. While I can appreciate your sentiment,
Most people recognize that Master of Puppets is a great album, regardless of whether or not you like the band.

I don't go around looking for your lame threads to dis.

And really, disposable herpes? This sounds like wishful thinking on your behalf.

7. I can see your sense of humor
is about as good as your taste in music and copycat threads. I understand your name.

I won't bother to explain, you wouldn't get it.

Anyone who has heard ...And Justice For All knows that Hetfield doesn't suffer fools gladly. I'm glad he rehabbed himself.
