Christmas Question?
The song "Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Eve" ...is that a remake of an older tune, or is that something they wrote?

1. If it is a remake of an older tune...

what is the name of that older tune?

maybe it came from a movement in Travinsky's Nutcracker Suite?

6. you said...the tune came from
the firebird suite...or at least I think thats what you implied....and now I'm asking which movement is that tune found?
Obviously...I'm not asking what movement in firebird is that exact name "Christmas in Sarevo" found...I'm just asking what movement in firebird is that general tune found.

5. both:)
The band Savatage first recorded it back in the mid nineties sometime. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra then added more orchestra to it and re recorded it. However, the Trans-Siberian was founded by members of Savatage, so I guess you could say it is there song anyway.

Of course the actual song is a medley of of a few much older Christmas songs

8. I'm pretty sure
I think it starts out with God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, and then most of the rest of the song is the Carol of the Bells, all guitared up nicely
