You Got To Be Kidding Me With This Jets-Steelers Game
12 Freakin' penalties on the Jets? The least-penalized team in the NFL?

How many calls are we going to have against us? We had two scoring opportunities wiped out because of these freakin' blind biased referees.

Okay, fess up, which Steelers fan here gave some 'love me long time' to the refs prior to this game?

At least its only 3-0. But this game and these calls are unbelievable.

19. It isn't
Mental errors are killing the Jets, they're not playing very disciplined(Within the rules)

It happens to all teams, more often with teams with poor coaching.

Tough struggle, in a game like this there isn't much room for error.

21. I'm sure NY has had some calls go their way
As for the penalties, I know you're a Jets fan, but I cut the refs slack and give them the benefit of the doubt on most calls. These guys do a hard job keeping track of a number things going on, keep an eye out for literally hundreds of possible infractions, watching the play as it develops while focusing on everything else going around including staying out of the play's way. They do a good job of making accurate calls most of the time givin everything they have to be aware of and dealing with the hostility of 50,000+ fans every week who boo every decisive call that doesn't go in the favor of the home team. Anyways, it's a good game played by the players. I'm rooting for Pittsburgh because Denver has a better chance of catching NY.

22. no, actually we got zero calls tonight
ZERO.

I don't think Pittsburgh had more than one flag thrown against them tonight.

Its insane.

This is almost as bad as basketball, but at least in basketball when the ref knows he blew a call he'll give a phantom call to the other team on the next play.

I mean, how can one team have 12+ penalties in a half, and the other not have 2?

28. To answer your question
Edited on Sun Dec-12-04 07:14 PM by Champ
One team makes too many mental errors and is committing fouls, most of them unintentionally while the other team is efficient in getting the play in, players getting down the snap count, going into their formation and in the right and legal spot, and snapping the ball before the Play clock runs out and is playing well within the rules. Sure the refs have likely called a few penalties on the Jets that were incorrect and have missed penalties committed by Pittsburgh. But the Jets have themselves to blame for most of their penalties but they played a good game vs a team that is playing very well and is riding a wave of momentum since Roethlisberger's first start. They are a good team and Pittsburgh should be looked at as the reason why the Jets lost.

4. It don't matter no how
because the Patriots will vanquish the Steelers in the playoffs, no matter where they meet.

As for the Jets, see if you can get a game up against the Sharks. Then maybe I'll care.

I wish Abraham was playing though. But the Jets are shutting down Big Ben and you know some fluke play is gonna decide this thing.

24. 2 penalties total for you guys
don't give me this crap. The refs want you and New England and Indianapolis to win.

Notice no penalties in second half. Hmmm. How odd.

Especially since Robertson was held on Bettis' run and Moss was interfeared with on a pass play a while back.

Yeah, the refs did everything they could to help you win.

Sports is as rigged as politics. No wonder we love both so much here.

Take away those 12 first half penalties and we're probaly up by two scores at halftime.

Open your eyes dude. The election was stolen and so was this game.

29. Turnovers are what really cost the Jets........................
While I agree 12 penalties in the first half is kinda hinky (trust me, I'm a WVU Mountaineers fan, I know about bad calls), the 3 turnovers for 85 yards is what really cost you.
