Secular Humanist Christm... err... Holiday songs
Since fine citizens {sarcasm} Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity has taken it upon themselves to uncover the real meaning of Seasons Greetings and Happy Holidays I thought maybe we can help them break this "Vast left wing conspiracy" of well over a half century wide open. :silly: Let's name holiday songs that do not actually note Jesus or Christmas or any of the meanings in the song title or the lyrics.

Here's a few:

Jingle Bells (A One Horse Open Sleigh)
Sleigh Ride
The Holly and the Ivy
Let it Snow

How about some others?

3. This "The Holly and the Ivy"?
The Holly and the Ivy
The holly and the ivy,
When they are both full grown,
Of all trees that are in the wood,
The holly bears the crown:
O, the rising of the sun,
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ,
Sweet singing in the choir.

The holly bears a blossom,
As white as lily flow'r,
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ,
To be our dear Saviour: Refrain

The holly bears a berry,
As red as any blood,
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ,
To do poor sinners good: Refrain

The holly bears a prickle,
As sharp as any thorn,
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ,
On Christmas Day in the morn: Refrain

The holly bears a bark,
As bitter as the gall,
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ,
For to redeem us all: Refrain

The holly and the ivy,
When they are both full grown,
Of all trees that are in the wood,
The holly bears the crown: Refrain

7. This is a pagan carol
with christian elements added later.

Also, Jingle Bells was written by a Unitarian minister, which is not too far removed from secular humanism.

5. How about some truly "Protestant" carols?
By James Dodson--the serious Christian Reconstructionists regard Christmas (which they term Christ-mass) as a filthy Popish/Pagan celebration. When they're in charge, it will be no more! This one is sung to the tune of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"

God keep all of you Protestants
From walking in the way;
Of heathens and idolaters
To celebrate this day.
You resurrect this Romish mass
For you have gone astray.
O, I know that it's just a popish ploy,
Popish ploy,
Yes, I know that it's just a popish ploy.

Hum seems to be about anamism...a natural object possessing humanist traits?

Then again there's the pagan classic O'Christmas tree...

We got one in our house right now, next thing you know we'll all be sacrificing virgins...

9. Deck the Halls works...
...so long as the original lyric mentioning Yuletide and not Christmas is sung. :)
