11. We're right in the same ballpark
My wife and I are almost the mirror image of you and your hubby, age-wise, and we still LOVE going to concerts. There is nothing more uplifting.

14. That is too cool
My wife and I actually turned our kids onto concerts before they were even into their early teens. They're in their 20's now, and they think it's great that we still go.

4. I do, all the time
And take my 14 year old daughter to most of them. Movies and rock clubs are my main entertainment. It's not like you hit a certain age and Kenny G suddenly sounds like he has talent or something.

Still go to the Dead shows when I can, In Saratoga, NY and various places in NJ. Saw the Lynyrd Skynyrd show in Montclair this past summer...and catch The Allman Bros. at the Beacon once in a while...Hot Tuna on Thanksgiving weekends. :)

8. yup
some i can comp, if i've written about them- in the past couple years, I've seen Richard Thompson, Rickie Lee Jones, Hot Tuna...

have also seen the Black Keys, Jeff Lang.

well, some of them were rockier than others.

no smoking, and not a lot of driving.

and i will admit, it's a little scary seeing the same performer you saw 30 years ago- Arlo Guthrie, Hot Tuna, and some of the others.

9. In our forties and still discovering new bands.
Well, not at the rate we did in our twenties, of course, but we drove to Chicago early this year to see Sloan play at the Metro, just on a whim.

We do tend to go to smaller venues, actually, though -- I can't do arena shows anymore, for numerous reasons, but I really like the fact that almost every city of any size in the Midwest has at least one outdoor amphitheater. That's livin' large -- nothing like an outdoor show in the summer.

Didn't see as many this year, actually -- we saw Sloan several places not too far from us, when they did their U.S. swing as a headliner, and we saw a couple of outdoor shows here in town. Usually we do three or four over the course of the summer, plus some local stuff.

Still go see my brother play at least once a month (when they play), too.

I only wish I had a decent radio station to listen to in the car -- all I have is Clear Channel (all emo/metal/misogyny all the time) or a local classic rock station that seems to think every classic artist had one song and only one song, ever. We're talking about getting satellite radio for the car -- that might help.

Realized I didn't spend top dollar to watch a bunch of snotnoses shakin' their boo-tays right in my sightline. Fuck 'em.

add on edit: I'm 48 now.

16. You're never too old to rock 'n roll!
Hey, the boomers brought rock to you kids.

If it wasn't for us, you'd be listening to Pat Boone!

Haven't been in a few years, but hell, yes.

I raised my son to love rock...brought him to all the concerts....he fell asleep during the Doobie Bros...he's grown now, & I tease him about it.

19.  from My first apartment was about three blocks from Fillmore West
Admission was about three bucks. Most of the time you could just watch the bands jam in some garage in the neighborhood or at least for free at speedway Meadows. My last rock concert was Altimont and, frankly, if I never see another one it will be just fine with me.

Once again, I live two blocks from the H.P. Pavilion in San Jose and couldn't be bothered to spend 4o gazillion bucks to see some geezer "entertain" me.

Howard Dean, on the other hand, I spent $200.00 bucks to see. I guess your priorities change.
