I used to do it when I was a kid, but I just stopped. Good thing, too.

Stannous fluoride or sodium fluoride, when swallowed, tends to stay in your system for a long time. Your bones depend mainly on calcium and phosphorous for strength, although fluoride certainly helps with teeth if brushed, not swallowed. Swallowing fluoride over a period of time may actually weaken bones because it can interfere with the delicate mineral balance needed for good bone health.

Any concerns, please see a doctor and get his or her take.

Things still remain stuck in between your teeth...doesn't remove those, and mouth wash only kills bacteria, doesn't remove plaque.

8. In a pinch, yes...
but be sure to rub your finger back and forth against your teeth vigorously to serve as a replacement toothbrush.
