6. I don't think the quality of the Beatles' songs had much to do with their

popularity. I was at a Beatles concert in 1964, and as a nerdy fledgling musician hoping to absorb some talent, or something. Despite walls of Vox amps on the stage of the Dallas convention center (this was before real PA), I never heard a lick or a word the whole time, for the screaming. They could have been the Monkees, as far as the "popularity" aspect was concerned.
