9. Don't they have to be a particular style of Nike shoes? And we can't
forget the velvet covering cloths.

3. Beautiful! And it should be visible in the US, soon.
Maybe it's an omen.

4. WoW!
Here is hoping it keeps on being bright for view from the N Hemispere.
I was so excited about Halley and it was a dud.

5. I missed Halley too
I was in the wrong part of the country under clouds. Waited 40 years to be able to see it, too.

16. Halley's was a big disappointment, but
soon after we had two terrific comets Hale-Boop was beautiful. The next one was even prettier.

7. Any info as to when/where it will be seen over US?
Went to the page and looked at the charts, but they don't make a lot of sense to me. Would love to be on the lookout for this one!

THX in advance for anyone who posts info re: path over northern hemisphere.

8. Thanks, and I just bought a telescope
Thanks for the link also, now if I can figure out how to use the thing, maybe I can view the comet.

11. Actually, for comets, binoculars are best. If you do use
a telescope, use the lowest power.

14. A couple of cool sites for sky watchers, in case you haven't seen them:
http://www.spaceweather.com/ This one has an email service that will let you know when something cool is going on in the sky. You can look at, or upload & share, pictures of sky events. The gallery is very cool and there are usually great shots.

For auroral activity, this is a cool site.
http://sec.noaa.gov/pmap/index.html
I usually have it running on a tab on my browser most evenings as things change often.

Too hobbled up with back pain tonight to go comet watching :( Hope tomorrow will be better.

You know the comet people will give you all the Ben and Jerry's ice cream you want.
The only catch, no nuts.
