Controversial nativity scene (featuring Junior & Poodle) smashed
Becks nativity smashed to pieces
By Chris Millar And Bo Wilson, Evening Standard
13 December 2004

The controversial waxwork Nativity scene depicting David and Victoria Beckham as Joseph and Mary has been wrecked in an attack.

Wax models of the stars, worth £50,000 each, suffered "extensive damage" when a young man attacked the display at Madame Tussauds.

The exhibit, which caused uproar after church leaders called it blasphemous, has now been removed only days after it was unveiled.

The scene, which also featured Tony Blair, the Duke of Edinburgh and President George Bush as the three wise men, was condemned by church leaders when unveiled last Thursday.

8. Good God.......
Don't you get sick of seeing so much of BUSH? You can't look in any direction anywhere unless you see that evil bastard's face. I'd like to smash anything that remotely LOOKS like him. Maybe you enjoy looking at his face all the time, but I sure as hell don't. :puke:

9. First check out the context?
Maybe it's the fabled American lack of a sense of humour (only partly
true) but there seem to be a LOT of people who are missing the joke here!

Has it not occurred to you that putting people like Tony Blair, George
Bush and the Duke of Edinburgh as the "wise men" is a complete piss-take?

Posh Spice as a virgin?

Kylie Minogue as an angel?

:eyes:

Can't you see that this falls into exactly the same basket as that
wonderful picture of Bush that was constructed from chimps?
Or maybe you are one of the people who's happy that the picture has
been banned?

11. I understand the concept......
But satire doesn't make me want to see that jerk. I avoid him like the plague. I am careful of what I watch on TV,I make sure the second his face pops up I change the channel or turn it off. I don't want to see him or hear that moron's voice. Why can't you understand that?

7. Bush as a wise man????
Bush as a wise man makes as much sense as Posh Spice as the virgin mary.

12. There's always some asshole....
I've been to the Madame Tussaud's in NYC, and the coolest thing is that you can walk up to the statues, put your arms around them, take pictures with them, etc.

When I was there I remember thinking "gee, it's so cool they can do this, and people are cool about it".

Much more assholes like this one, and the statues will be fenced or plastic contained. Thanks a lot, jerk!

Bush as a wise man is hilarious. But you know Becks and Victoria make a nice Mary and Joseph. They're married, at least! Don't they get any points for that!
