HOLY CRAP! Is it snowing!!
Wind is blowing it seems like 100 mph - can hardly stand up in it! This has severely curtailed my plans for the day - rather than getting a haircut and studying all day at Barnes & Noble, I merely browsed a bit, got my state inspection and emissions test done and hit the grocery store for rations. A very good day to stay indoors!

BTW, I'm in suburban Pittsburgh.

2. Louisville has its first snow of the winter today
It's mostly tiny pellet-sized flurries just blowing around, but it's snow.

Enjoy your stay indoors today.

3. Always amazing how often I've left snowy Pittsburgh
only to drive across the state to a dry non-snowy Philadelphia.

It's the reason we used to get a ski house at Seven Springs every year between Christmas & New Year - to ensure that we got at least SOME snow for the holidays.

Oh, and congrats on 13-1 -- feels good, doesn't it??

5. Just a little SE of Schenley Park in Pittsburgh
and it is finally snowing! My only worry is Pittsburgh is reporting they only have 13 of 34 plows operational right now due to the budget crunch. I may have to get real snow tires this year.

9. hey Pittsburgh people!
I missed the whiteout here in the East End, but colleagues on the phone told me there were many white-outs earlier today where they were _ downtown and South Side. Sure looks pretty though. And I just got new tires on Friday.

7. I *never* thought I would say this, but
I miss snow.

The sun is shining, the high temp will be 50 today, and the grass is still green. When it DOES snow here, it melts right away. My kids have made two snowmen in the last four years.

I want to go home.

12. I know exactly how you feel
It's been six years since I moved to California from Vermont and I never thought I'd miss the snow. But I do. And I so miss home. The other night, there was a short thing on the news about how Vermont General Stores are getting pushed out by chain convenience stores and I started to cry.

Yeah, I want to go home, too.

10. I hope yins didn't buy up all the milk and bread from Giant Iggle!
I'm going to have to get some on the way home! :)

I'm north of the Burgh, and the whole Freeport area was a disaster around 7:30 this morning. I hope they have everything cleared up by the time I have to go home.
