Poll question: What the hell is VideoNow? |
|
and why does my eight year old so desperately think Santa will hate her should she not get it for Christmas?
Serious, I follow consumer electronics pretty carefully, but I can't figure out what the heck this thing is.
I've found this description:
It's portable, affordable, 100% kid friendly and now, in color! The VideoNow Color player lets kids watch and listen to their favorite shows on discs. This awesome player provides a sharp, full-color screen and backlit display, plus a viewing area that's larger than ever -- 2.5 inches! Because kids lead a colorful, on-the-go lifestyle, they need colorful, on-the-go entertainment -- anytime, anywhere.
So... its like a personal DVD player for little people? Is the software expensive for this beast?

2. It seems its been well marketed to the kids |
|
So, you buy disks of TV programs? I still don't get it. I feel like one of the board members of the Hudsucker Co. "Its for kids!" huh?

3. I bought my daughter the original version |
|
and while i was paying for it i thought...i bet a color version will be out in 6 months making this one obsolete. Of course the color version is now out. A total waste of money.

7. She used it on a car trip, the headphones are shit |
|
so we tried other ones for it and really it's the player itself, the volume on high still doesn't come through to good. After that trip, she never used it again. Yiu can buy a 3 pack of episodes for about $14 depending on what show it is.

because you can watch shows on it and the color and pic are much better. Plus, dont forget, we have the b & W version, the color one is probably better.

6. The problem is always the media. |
|
It can't play full size dvds...you can't burn your own...the damn thing sucks batteries...kids are forever losing the disks...I hate the things almost as much as "hit clips":nuke:
