Has anyone watched that "Blue Collar Comedy" show on Comedy Central?
Comedy Central plugs this thing to death.

If you've seen it...is it as stupidly unfunny, right-wing and homophobic as it looks?

I just want to know so that I don't accidentally watch part of it.

Thanks
T

2. I know *I* don't get it.
And I usually like Foxworthy. But that Cable Guy is just plain unfunny.

3. It takes the words "dumbing down of America" to new lows
The media thinks pandering to stupidity will get more viewers. I watched it for about 15 minutes before I decided that the Cartoon Network has greater social value.

4. It's not that bad.

I've seen it. Not my kind of thing but my kids seem to love it.

And when people say "It's just a joke", sometimes it really is.

but I've heard the show is not so good.

13. I agree. Foxworthy and Engvall are okay, Larry the Cable Guy is a
racist, sexist turd. If Ron White were on, it might be a more entertaining show. He seems to be more on the ball than the rest of them - perhaps he saw this coming and wisely passed on it?

9. "Hee Haw" is Masterpiece Theatre compared to Blue Collar
But then I actually liked Hee Haw as a kid.

10. It's just not that funny.
It's clearly supposed to be a spinoff of the Blue Collar Comedy tour, but they failed to get the funniest guy on that tour, Ron White, inked to the show. Thus, it's lacking in ideas, and therefore just not very funny.

11. Larry the cable guy SUCKS
but, the others were pretty funny. Especially, Ron White. Any drunk guy on stage telling stories about being drunk is usually pretty funny.

14. No, very much the opposite
it pokes fun at at the homophobic, right-wing trailer-dwelling, mouth-breathing sister-lovers.

If you're looking for some club-quality rightard pandering-to-the- room, tune in "Tough Crowd" with Colin (Dennis Miller Lite) Quinn. That hack delivers enough lib-bashing, war-loving, euro-slamming to satisfy the most morAnic freeper.

16. It's a shame
We both love Ron White and like Jeff Foxworthy, so we watched the first few episodes.

We don't watch anymore, though, because we can't get over how scatalogical the show is. The opening monologue is usually funny, as is the "I believe..." little bit they do. But the skits themselves are embarrassing. There was one that had a family's "teenaged" daughter showing the new (middle-aged man) neighbor her extremely suggestive stripper-like cheerleading routine - shaking her chest over his head, rubbing her butt on his lap. Are these the family values the red states have been pushing for?

(Although they did do one skit that hit close to home, where Foxworthy destroys the house looking for the remote control rather than walking over to the TV and changing the channel by hand).

17. Why not...
watch it and make up your own mind?

Me, I laughed at some of the routines. Didn't laugh much at others.

22. Yes, it is stupid
The original live standup show the 4 of them did was pretty funny, actually.

I must admit, Foxworthy's bit about the guy getting his nipple bit off by a beaver was pretty funny.
