This is funny:

Dubya: Bad for People, Good for Rock
by NOAH WALDEN - 2004-12-11

As we search the edge of every cumulus in the sky for a hint of silver lining in this second round of Dubya, the most obvious good we may glean comes from the world of music. For whatever reason, in fact for several reasons, bad times are good for Rock 'n Roll. The greater truth is that hard times, tragedy, warfare and famine are good for art, if not for artists. No one puts the 'rage' in tragedy or the 'mine' in famine quite like the Republicans these days, so take heart, liberal rockers, humanity's loss is Rock n' Rolls' gain.

By looking at our past, we may get a glimpse of our future, and the fantastic music that is sure to be created by Bush Jr.'s inept foreign policy, fiscal irresponsibility, and overall wretched stewardship of this once great nation.

This article is rock-o-centric and does not address soul, hip-hop, country or other genres in any meaningful way, so don't feel left out.
