2. Was an original.
I remember watching Sesame Street, Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood as a kid. That was the extent of children's programming at the national level.

5. Seriously funny and charming.
What was the thing that triggered the pingpong balls--was is a secret word or something?

My best KK memory was the bit at the end of each show, when he would tell the viewers to get their moms and dads to come to the tv for a message. I used to wake my mom up everday for that, much to her chagrin, when I was 5 or so. She still harbors some deep resentment... she likes her sleep.
