Any other Canadian DUers love watching Alberta Squirm....
Over gay marraige? I heard a clip to day where a guy said "We don't want this garbage." then Ended with "I have a solution to people mad they can't get married in Alberta - go to a province where they can."

Basically that means "Fags get out of Alberta" HEy Klien GAYS WILL BE MARRIED IN YOUR PROVINCE - SUCK IT UP FUCKHEAD!

Laughs like daffy duck and runs off

1. Klein's Deklein is coming fast and thick.
You can go up, Ralph, but you fall back eventually. That's gravity, even in politics.

5. I had some dingleberry mouth off about gay marraige today
"They're doing it for economic reasons" he said. Then says "I've heard some are coming from the states to get married then go back....what's the point you're not eligible for benefits then."

I said...."Uh, maybe they just want to be married?"

7. I tend to think of Alberta as Canada's Idaho. With maybe
Montana & Wyoming thrown in.

8. I live in Edmonton...
Expat American w/ a Canadian wife; been up here over 3 years. Once she filled me in on ol' Ralph, listening to this made much more sense.

Alberta's going to lose this eventually; the more they hold out, the more they look like tools. But this is Ted Byfield country too, so this doesn't surprise me....

10. This is pretty much what Ralph wanted

If it's done at the federal level, he can tell his constituents his hands his tied. If it's constitutional, he can't even do the notwithstanding thing.

What should make him glad is todays news where they were talking about all the potential gay tourism for Toronto and Vancouver. He's gonna want a piece of that. If there's money involved, the Conservatives will roll over and play dead just to get a piece of it.

11. Yep!
And chances are that if they get the tourisim, it's going to Banff, Jasper, and Edmonton, not Calgary.

I wish I was here when he did the drunken Xmas eve ragging of the homeless in the shelter; that must have been something to witness...

I do, however, wish Ralph would fall off the wagon and start pounding back the Yukon Jack again. I miss his televised "blackouts".

To be sure, though, Alberta right-wing conservatism without the US-style fundie bible-thumping is just plain dull and ineffectual. No entertainment value whatsoever.

RALPH. FALL OFF THE WAGON. YOUR SLOBBERING, SLOPPY DRUNKEN TIRADES ARE SORELY NEEDED FOR POLITICAL COLOUR COMMENTARY. YOUR SOBRIETY IS EXCRUCIATINGLY BORING.
