Googled my name, how depressing. |
|
My real name, that is. Not only does the real me actually appear only once, but there a lot of my nominative doppelgangers doing a lot more impressive stuff with their time than I am. Sigh.

Hey dig me - I think I just invented a new word:
InvisiGoogle: a person, place or thing whose existence is unknown to Google.

BY MURDERING YOU, foul rubber of salt in a wound.
But I probably wouldn't get any press unless you're: a) a young white childhood beauty pageant contestant b) a young pregnant woman (preferrably neither black nor poor) c) preferrably A and B
So let me know if either of those is true, and I'll make us both famous. ;) Kidding, of course.

Not everyone who works/worked there is a scientist.
Even they need some people to work in the cafeteria and some people to trim the hedges.
Myself, I'm a TV engineer.
But...you could buy a t-shirt in the souvenir shop that read, "Why yes, as a matter of fact, I AM a rocket scientist."

The claim is all that matters.
And then you could tell them you installed cable on the space shuttle, drop a few "Yeah, we had a hard time integrating the X22 sim into the capulus module, but then I thought 'Why not bypass the cafernulous entirely and transmit directly into the fromenculavalvulator and presto - the astronauts had Animal Planet!'"
They'd be all like "Whoa" and shit.

|
Somebody else (i.e. not you) referenced you in their thesis (i.e. a very long paper) but got the facts about your existence incorrect? Does this mean you've just proven your own nonexistence? If so, you may be in line for some awards or something - science-y awards and such. And the requisite scantily-clad science babes and/or science hunks.

But this person referenced something I had done and the facts about my work were wrong. However, the 'facts' reinforced her premise.

35. See, this is what I mean |
|
You actually had "work" that another person could cite in an attempt (however poorly made and executed) to further her own work. So the fact that your name was out there to be quoted in the first place makes me feel even worse. What work have I to be incorrectly cited? I'd given anything to be incorrectly cited. ;)
