San Diego thanks you Eli Manning |
|
On behalf of myself, and all San Diegans I just wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to Eli Manning and his Daddy for demanding he be traded to a team more "worthy of his talents."
The Chargers are now 10-3 and playoff bound, which probably would not have happened had Eli stayed. So Eli, when we look at your 0-4 record, 1 TD to 6 INT, and passer rating of 33.7, know that here in SoCal, we're laughing at you, not with you.
Thanks for going to New York though!

And GO CHARGERS!!! I can't believe the year they are having. And while the long run may (or may not) vindicate Eli's whimpers and his daddy's crappy attitude, I'm living in the right now, thank you!

Eli in San Diego would've been a mess for both SD and Eli. They didn't need him when they had Brees.

7. That deal reverses the Ryan Leaf debacle. |
|
The Bolts had the chance to take Leaf or Peyton Manning. They took Leaf. The worst decision in NFL history IMO.

They traded up for the #2 pick. Indy had the #1 pick all the way. Boltz didn't do their homework on Ryan's magnetic personality.

10. I can certainly agree with your sentiments regarding Eli, but for the sake |
|
of your team (mine is the Lions just so you know the depths of MY heartache), don't forget about the Football God(s). They be a fickle bunch.
In honor of Fouts, Winslow, Muncie, Jefferson, Kelcher, I do say; Go Chargers!!

Eli Manning is no where near done. Before you thin it was a great deal, wait a season or so. Remember Peyton was 0-4 with a 38.0 rating after 4 games. If Eli winds up playing like his brother, the Giants got a steal.
Eli is not showing much, but he is also on the worst overall team in the game. The Giants competed in the first 5 weeks due to a huge turnover ratio of +12, due to the defense. since then they have lost their two starting defensive ends, the first replacement end, their strong and free safety, their back up strong safety, one starting linebacker and their two nickle backs. The defense is pretty much a practice squad right now. Hard to get any turnovers or keep the other team from scoring with that.
Also, the Giants offensive line was weak when the season started, now it is also a practice squad. The starting Center and Guards are both injured and the strong and weak tackles are injured, but playing. Its tough to throw a pass when you get less than 1.8 seconds per pass before being hit.
I don't think he should be in their right now, but he is. I think you are jumping too early on someone in a no win situation. If he sucks again next season, we'll see. Lets see how he plays another "weak team."

20. I think it was a good trade for both teams |

The Giants were in need of a QB, they got a really good young QB with good genes. The Chargers had Drew Brees and did not need another franchise QB, the problem with the Bolts wasn't the QB position.
