Mad TV vs In Living Color

Granted they are/were both on Faux, but at some point bioth were funny.
My vote goes to In Living Color.
I'll take the Wayans family and Jim Carrey anyday.

1. Both are great, but

MadTV seemed to miss almost as much as it had hit. And went downhill when they started adding the big musical number at the end.

ILC, OTOH, was generally funnier - and more energetic and lively. And fun. And the "Men On ____" series is to die for! A pity that FOX chopped out skits in season 2 (Vanilla Ice, Paula Abdul, I'd gathered). I'm hoping season 3 remains uncut and intact or I won't be buying it either.

2. Speaking of In Living Color....

I think Jamie Foxx is up for an award for best actor in the movie "Ray". He came a long way from playing that Wanda character on In Living Color.

6. In Living Color smokes Mad Tv

MAD TV has some funny moments but is mostly second rate. In Living Color rarely had a bad moment. Fire Marshall Bill, Homey The Clown, Homeboy Shopping Network, The Gay Movie Reviewers...so many great characters and sketches.

Jamie Foxx

David Alan Grier

...and even though she never had the huge success that the others had, Kim Wayans was really talented, too.

I like MadTv, but it's not even close to how good In Living Color was.

10. Whatever happened to Kim Wayans?

She ROCKED!

As Oprah, Della Reese, Bunita Buttrell, Grace Jones (!!) and scores of others, she was a tour de force.

Of course, Damon was superlative and Keenan Ivory's insight into what made the show work is why it worked. A pity FOX got greedy, which in turn caused ALL of the Wayans to vamoose. :-(
