Next year's Heisman race may come to 2 players from the same HS.
Helix HS, La Mesa CA.
Alex Smith, QB, Utah.
Reggie Bush, RB, USC.
Has this ever happened before?
Smith, I thought was adequate at best in HS. Bush on the other hand was the best RB I have ever seen, HS, College or Pro. He was rated #'s 3, 2 and 1 respectively throughout his soph, junior and senior years as HS RB.
Absolutely fantastic averaging over 200 yds rushing a game, playing DB also and was #2 rated punter in SD county. Oh yeah, he was also a 4.0 student and is doing pre-med at USC.
I cant recall two players, HS teammates, in line for Heisman honors.
Can you?

1. Bush is the man
Some of his punt returns for USC were incredible, when he gets into the open field he can do alot of things. He will make an NFL city real happy one day, I can see him being the top reciever, RB, and KR for most teams he is so versatile. I wish I could post some game highlights of Reggie Bush, he and Adrian Peterson are the best Offensive players in the country.

2. My son blocked for him at Helix in 2002. He was an OT.
I have never seen a player with moves and power like Reggie. He was unstoppable to the point of it not being fair.
He's also a very elequent and fine young man. I've talked with his mom before and she is so very proud of him.
He's got it all going for him.

3. That's cool
If Reggie becomes bigger then he already is which I'm sure he will, to say you blocked for him before he became a superstar is cool.

4. Helix HS can also boast of Bill Walton and Brian Sipe as alumni.
