I hate right-wing people :-D
Edited on Wed Dec-15-04 12:12 AM by Revolutionary_Acts04
Ok so I belong (I think I might quit sometime soon) to this MSN group with freeper types.. anyway someone posted this thing, which with help from my DU friends, I debunked:

"Actually that story is bogus. See this site: http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/cemetery.asp

Please read the links, they explain a lot.

Also, I think its fine to stop making kids say the Pledge of Allegiance. It does say “One Nation Under God.” Well what if you don’t believe in God? Why should you be forced to say that? Religious things like that should not be forced upon people."

Then I get a reply from the person who first posted:
"Everyone is entitled to theirr own opinion, that is what this country is all about! I do think the pledge and prayer should also be available if children do want to participate. Not made to...... if it goes against one's belief's.....but for the children that do believe should have the opportunity also."

Me again:
"Well, I disagree with you there, if one does believe in God then you really shouldn’t be praying in school, a public place. The bible states that you should not:

Matthew 6:5-6 (King James Version)

5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

Then I get this reply, from another person:
"okay kate ...left the other one alone...but baptists preachers daughter here...if u are going to quote scripture..then u have to quote it all..not just one or two passages...and no I wont exchange scriptures with you..that is a very sacred thing to me..and I wont belittle it in anyway....and on these boards is not the place...no harm no foul okay?...just no scriptures please!"

So.... their answer when I point out that they're wrong is to say "its sacred don't quote it" ??!!!!!!!?!??!?!?! I was always under the impression that they (right wingers) could quote it whenever they want HOW ever they want, I guess that just applies to them?

1. She's a preacher's daughter
Odds are good she's a ho, and is the school slut. Trust me, I know this sub-culture well.

I loved how she scurried away like a rat when you nailed her (not to a cross, haha) with that quote.

2. The scope of the lie
They don't believe in God at all. Pure and simple. This is just more propaganda, and they will say ANYTHING that can act as a quick and cheap answer to their problems. They quote this all the time. They think that they have exclusive rights to use this for any justification they want.

Now if you want real fun, save this thread and use it to quote them for every instance that they pull scripture quotes on the forum. Nail their sorry asses.

5. LOL!!! Good IDEA! I think I will.....
You know whenever something bad happens to a person on this site, i.g. a girl on the site, her dad was sent to hospital and almost everyone on the site says "ooh I'm so sorry to hear that, I'll pray for you." I think that is outward prayer and thats not right.. it goes against the teachings of Jesus!

7. OH OH OH I got ANOTHER reply! This is from the person who 1st posted
"I agree with Rox*, I had scriptures ready to show you where Jesus actually prayed out loud in front of others, however I did not really want to bring up a scriptural battle here.

As I said, I really think the kids out to be given a choice and if they don't want to pray, they shouldn't be made too, where my girls were concerned, I just couldn't see where starting the day off with God on their mind could do them any harm at all.

I do agree that some prayer should be done alone in a dark place, but everyone interprets the Bible in different manners, that is why we have so many different religions. I think it is good to find a quiet place to be alone so you can have your thoughts completely on God to comune with him. But I also believe that God does not just hear you in a closet, he hears you whenever you call on him, and I call on him alot of that all the time, no matter where I am, It would really be sad to think he didn't hear me because I was not in a closet! I hope that this does not offend you, it is just what I beleive and really would not like to see them take prayer or the pledge out of the schools."

*Rox is the baptists preachers daughter.

I feel though, and I don't believe in God or the bible, but I feel if Jesus was to pray in public that would be ok, I mean he is the son of God so that must give him some perks. Well they say he's anyway, I have no way of knowing or not knowing if thats the way it is or not, but yeah.

Also.. have you noticed all the typos they've made?
