1. Hard to pin it down but 100 baloons and flowers every week
when I was very sick from my husband is one of many kindnesses I have been shown. A hug from a friend, tears brushed away by those who care, and a simple card. These are all among my treasure chests of kindness. I guess one of the hugest, is when a telephone operator back in the 80's hunted me down in a motel room to make sure I was OK as I was waiting on my ex husband who deserted me. I don't know how she tracked me and she brought me doughnuts and she and her husband knocked on the Motel door to see if I was OK. I had been on the phone trying to reach my then husband now x husband and in tears. She never ever stopped talking to me, I was not suicidal but she didn't know that as I was crying and in a strange place. That WAS A KINDNESS I shall never forget. I never forgot and I didn't get her name, but she was so worried for me. I must have told her my life story or something, I was so distressed. Thanks for making me bring this to mind. He was a long haul truck driver and I was left in a city 300 miles from home as he took off with someone else and I found out waiting for him to return. His boss told me and I was trying to call every number in Massachussetts to try and find out why...that was where he was and I was stuck in a motel in Nashville. I lived in Atlanta.

2. oh
I am so sorry. I think we all have had a distressing time and can relate although I will say you sound really strong because that sounds crazy --- I am sure you look back on that and realize that you are happy to be rid of him.
Tough times don't last, friendship does.
