The extended DVD version of ROTK is incredible!

I'm amazed at how much of the story's original integrity was returned within the extended version of The Return Of The King. Some of the scenes were no surprise- Saruman and Wormtongue's scene at Orthanc, and the appearance of The Mouth Of Sauron, to name a couple everyone expected. And there were other unexpected moments including Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas's very cool extended scene within the halls of the dead.

Much was included that only one who's read the books would look for. And since I've read the Trilogy at least once a year since first picking it up in 1973, I found a lot to satisfy me. Fifty extra minutes of new footage gave ample opportunity to flesh the final movie out considerably. They did good on this one, and I'm thrilled at the version of the movie I've waited my entire adult life for.

10. It was spectacular. I loved every single second of it. Get the one

with four disks and the little Minas Tirith. They have a music DVD too.
I wept and wept over this extended version, I was so moved. There is something about selfless heroism, quiet selfless heroism that makes me blubber. I loved this movie and the characters. Worth every damned penny.

And, I'm not usually one to get misty eyed.

On the bright side, I have tomorrow off from work and I'm going to set up my new home theater system and crank it up to watch this movie first!

15. Major disappointment to me. *******Spoiler alert***********

The Faramir and Eowyn relationship was supposed to be covered BUT WASN'T!!

I'm sorry, but the little cuddle they share, with no previous build up does NOT explain their complex, touching and eventually healing relationship.

I AM VERY DISPLEASED!!!!!!!!!!!!
