Ohio Company Introduces The Sauerkraut Martini
<snip>

FREMONT, Ohio -- The Fremont Co. is setting out to prove that sauerkraut's not just a bratwurst topping. The northwest Ohio maker of Frank's Kraut has come up with a martini featuring a sauerkraut-filled olive. They call it the "K-Tini."

They recently tested the drink at a Chicago nightclub and parties are planned in Miami and New York.

Company vice president Chris Smith is the fourth generation to run the family-owned company. He said the K-Tini is a way to promote sauerkraut as something hip and new instead of the old-world, old-style product it is now.

To make a K-Tini, stuff a green olive with sauerkraut, marinate overnight in vermouth, add vodka and shake.

1. Well, I guess it's worth at least ONE try
but I doubt it will ever overshadow the perfect blue-cheese stuffed olive! :-)

3. I never thought I'd say this, but...
I like to fancy myself as a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to a nice martini, and this sounds like it might be tasty.

But, eewww...it's 7am and I'm a tad hungover. Not the time to be thinking about this...

4. Sauerkraut is low-calorie and low-carb - how could it NOT be hip?
:shrug:
