I belong to an online community devoted to helping people fight their own fight w/ obesity. One of the many message boards at the site lets people sound off about politics. I don't go there every day, but when I find something of interest to post, I do.
In the past 45 days, I initiated 12 threads on the politics board. Today I went there and found that someone thinks I need to "get a life".... mind you, she's a professed conservative republican, but get this, her message states "don't mean to offend....".
In another thread she bemoans how mean-spirited the board is.
Unreal.....

1. Gawd I hate that phrase! |

I think anyone who uses that line should be severely beaten. That one and "WhatEVER...". They are both dismissive and disrespectful.

If we start a sentence with "don't mean to offend . . ." we should probably stop talking or writing. LOL. Nothing good can follow those words.
And apparently the definition of "mean spirited" is disagreement?
LOL

Someone posts about a post and says that the person posting needs to get a life? Perhaps it is a cry for help as in needing a life and projecting onto others?
Okay, a potential answer: My life includes the joy of posting online. In fact, it has more meaning and value to me than telephone soliciting for a living. Is bothering people on the phone to sell them something they don't want, a life?
