Poll question: What's your opinion of Tom Clancy and his Novels*?
*I use the term novel loosely.

1. Can't even stand the movies based on the "novels"
 No offense to his fans.

2. Other: First few were good, but now he is a hack.
I loved the book "Red October", and "Red Storm Rising" was also good. But his writing then went downhill fast.

I also loved the movie of "Red October", but his other movies have blown.

4. I used to really like him..

mind you, this was back when I was 15. But Red Storm Rising does take credit for interesting me in international politics. I really liked the scope of that one. Clear and Present Danger and Sum of All Fears were good (again, from a teenaged perspective). I recently tried to pick up one of his more recent ones. Something about cyber war.... GAWDAWFUL!!!! I lasted only a couple chapters. Top his credit, I believe it was co-authored.

3. Tom Clancy was a one-book author
Hunt for Red October. Everything after that is simply republican propaganda.

5. I've never read anything by him
Although if I did, I'd be going into the undertaking with a small bias already held against him... knowing he's a Re:puke: and Bush supporter!
