My wife is one of those who had to have the RotK extended edition as soon as it came out, so I bought it for her yesterday and gave it to her as an early Xmas present.
My question is, is there a new round of tie-in products out this year? You know, the "making of" type books and so on. I imagine most of that stuff was out last year for the theatrical release, but does anyone know of anything new?

I'm sure there is some kind of making of feature. I know that if there is a video or something, it will be included with the DVD.

I've always thought that a distressed-looking map of middle earth that you can hang on the wall would make a great gift. I've been looking for one - they have a framed movie print on Amazon, but it's kind of expensive ... don't know how much you were looking to spend. For a cheaper version, they also sell the maps in poster form. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002E7A8Y/qid=1103127897/sr=8-10/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i10_xgl60/102-4645801-8138509?v=glance&s=home-garden&n=507846
