Activists Denounce Fox's Upcoming 'Who's Your Daddy?'

Child rights and adoption advocates have reacted angrily to the upcoming Fox reality series Who's Your Daddy?, in which adopted children must select their real parent from a group of eight men, seven of whom are pretending to be the father. Adam Pertman, author of Adoption Nation, told BBC News: "This isn't just offensive, it's destructive. ... How can anyone think to turn such a personal, involved and poignant experience into a game show?" But co-exec producer Kevin Healey commented: "I can understand the reservations. ... But the people came to it with great excitement and a willingness to play the game. It's a fun and healthy way to get to know this person that they've never met." The series is set to debut with a 90-minute special on Jan. 3.

In all seriousness, my beloved daughter came to my husband and I in a very special way - she was adopted by us!

I cannot tell you how destructive that this could be! It's just another thing that I am going to have to shelter her from (she's only 8). It's despicable exploiting this issue in an adopted child's life.

And, for the last time (not to DUers, to Fox): I am her REAL mom, and my husband is her REAL father. If she becomes curious about the biologicals, then I will help her research when she is an adult. Calling these biologicals her 'parents,' however, is a REAL stretch. Only in the most technical sense.

9. As a birthmother I find this completely sickening...

reunions with birth family should be a personal and private event. Also, how would they be reacting if it was birthmothers up there instead of birthfathers? I don't think they would think it's such a great idea then.

I might never meet my birthson, but if I ever am lucky enough to do so, it definitely would not be on TV!
