Thanks for everyone for the previous help with the computer, we fixed the CD-Rom Drive problem woohoo but I can't install iTunes now and I still have no sound. I get this message when I "finish" installing iTunes. InstallShield 1628: Failed to Complete Installation

Go to the Utilities folder in Applications and open Disk Utility. Click on the First Aid tab, select your hard drive, and click on Repair Permissions.

did you have previous versions of iTunes installed?
is an iPod part of the picture?
is there iTunes software installed in the start menu/program file? can you uninstall it?
what other music mp3 software are you using?

Yes, I had a previous version No, I don't have an iPod There is an iTunes software in the start menu and no I cant uninstall it I am not using any other MP3 software.

19. try to unistall iTunes |

using the add/delete programs control panel or whatever it is called in windows
or wherever iTunes preferences/temp files are stored - trash'em
then try to reinstall
