Canada sounds great!
Universal health care. Literacy at 95% of the population. Biggest political problem is between French culture in one province and British culture in the other areas.

No political action groups!

Head of state is not elected in some stupid cult-of-personality popularity contest like we have in the States. The majority in Parliament appoints the Executive leader. How sensible! How refreshing!

Multiple parties. Proportional representation.

Socially liberal.

Not warlike! Friendly. Nice.

Environmentally conscious. Well-educated. Tolerant.

Why can't I live there???? PLEEEEEEEEESE?

If you can live in Minnesota, you can live in Western Canada w/o a problem.

Hell, I came from Phoenix and winter doesn't bother me...

14. The eastern part of Canada is way colder than that
Try slogging a quarter mile on foot in a blizzard in -80 degree weather because you have to get home and cars and buses won't run.

Uh, yes.
That's what the weather guy on the radio was saying when I walked into the house and my sister had to uncrate me from my clothes because I was frostbitten. Probably included the windchill factor, but at those temps, who cares.

Those temps w/ wind chill are the exception, not the rule anywhere south of The Territories.

34. With windchill, I suppose it's possible.
But that's the perceived temperature, not the actual temperature.

But like you said, when you're the one outside, who cares?

10. Maybe the cold weather keeps out the morans
I don't want to veer into red state/blue state stereotypes again (seeing as how I live in a red state meself) but there might be something to this.

A temperature divide?

The price one pays to live in a progressive society is to live in the cold? Morans can't be bothered?

38. British Culture? Hardly.
Try Indigenous, German, Ukrainian, Scots, Irish, Russian, Chinese, Indian, Korean, African, Italian, Hispanic Culture. I've no idea what 'British Culture' even is - I suspect there is no such thing.
What I really mean is that it is quite annoying to have people think of Canada as French or English, particularly for the vast majority of us non-Francophones who aren't English.
