This has been the worst year of my life. Hands down. BUT...
I don't know, maybe it's something that happens when you hit rock bottom and survive, but I feel that 2005 is the year that anything could happen. I really feel, for the first time in a long time, that I have a 2nd chance to be exactly who I want to be.

Today, just as a preview, a door that I had previously shut opened just a crack, and that told me to keep on fighting for what I want.

Sorry for the vague post, but does anyone else feel good about 2005, in spite of everything?

7. I've had an emotionally difficult year
I'm beginning to think that my life will make a turn. I offical graduate from Grad school this Saturday, so that's something to be happy about. 2003 was a crappy year too. Hopefully, things will improve.

Remember that ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN

14. Anything Can Happen
(from the Finn Brothers CD "Everyone is Here")

Day
Has begun
And I stumble
To the front
There's no
Real control
Of a random
Event

And I will take my chances
'Cos anything can happen
I don't believe it's over
'Cos anything can happen

I could never
Give it up
I could never relent
And I can't
Wait to see
What will happen
To me next

I will take my chances
'Cos anything can happen
I don't believe it's over
'Cos anything can happen

It doesn't matter
What we did wrong
Makes no difference
To me
I see the light in your eyes
And you're dancing free

And I'm coming down today
To gather in the pieces
Give in to the mystery

And I will take my chances
'Cos anything can happen
Don't believe it's over
'Cos anything can happen

One day, I
Someday, I

Anything can happen
Yeah, anything can happen

I will make it shine
I will make it rain sometime

15. Its been difficult for me too and the last couple of weeks well they just.
pushed me to the brink. I'm planning on retiring in a couple of months and a few Republican friends are urging me to take a position with county government. They have offered it to me several times. My answer now is to call me in 9 months and I will gladly take it on. I have a few things to do around my house and have to complete some writing I promised. 2005 could be fine, 2006 even better.

They say all politics are local so my advice is to get involved and do something that directly effects your life or others.

16. I ran for school board in 2002.
A complete political novice, I ran such a dedicated and positive campaign, that even though I lost in the primary, I had Republicans call me afterwards and ask me to run on their ticket.

Running as a Republican is the only way to win in my neck of the woods, but I could never do it. Best of luck to you, though.

Seems like just about everyone I know is saying, "This has been the worst year of my life!" So, we're not alone.

19. Yes, and I'm not sure why
2004 had its ups and downs, but I'm feeling remarkably sanguine about 2005.
