Apparently a newer "breed" that someone is trying to develop, the American Bullnese :)

1. Very cute!
But won't Quinn be extra jealous if you get a dog?

3. I didn't say I was getting one, I said they were cute :)
Quinn would probably never purr again if I brought in a dog :)

16. Awww
I'm not overly fond of "flat faced pets", but that's really cute!

BTW-haven't had a Quinn fix in a while. ;-)

17. Hmmm, I don't think I have any new Quinn pics . . . .
How about one of him and Althea together, but he has his back to the camera?

Or a repost of an older Quinn pic?

25. Just a preference....
...I never liked dogs with smashed in faces, curled up tails, elongated bodies or bulging eyes. This breed just happens to have all four of those qualities!!!!!!!!! Its like some women like tall, dark and handsome and some like blue eyes and blonde hair.

7. Cute! Looks established already. Here's some new cat breeds
(within the last few years, that is). What other new dog breeds are out there?

The toyger is a domestic breed, meant to look like a tiny tiger (obviously):

Savannah cats are African Servals mixed with domestic cats:

Serengeti cats go for the wild look without the wild blood:

same deal with the Pixie Bob:

Looks like something you'd see perched atop an Egyptian tomb :)

The others are beautiful, but that first one is just . . . intimidating :)

13. I think Jewel of the Nile (the breeder)
mixes the servals with orientals-it does give them a weird, stretched out look, but I'm sure they're better pets than those that are mixed with bengals!

She was a bit groggy last night, but when I woke up this morning, she was already in her normal spot beside me on the bed purring :)

She's fine :)

24. No Parrot eaters
I have a Golden Retriever that all 3 of our parrots like to tease and feed. I'm trying to figure out how to keep Lady Leigh alive and good company for a very long time because the parrots will miss their dogie someday.

29. Get them a puppy when the time comes...
My rentmate with the 7 birds also had a rescue mom-cat that had kittens in the bottom of the yellow-naped Amazon's cage, for some reason. That bird "adopted" the kitten she kept, and they're still best buds.
In fact, I think the reason my cats accepted the kitten in their house when she moved in is because the parrot had already trained the kitten how to act around "adults".
(It also helped that my big black male is part Bombay/Burmese, and from what I've heard, they tend to be tolerent verging on maternal when it comes to all species of babies.)
