cellular/PCS external antenna for cell phones - suggestions??
Edited on Thu Dec-16-04 12:04 PM by bufffbison
if anyone has used one, let me know how well it worked... i'm thinking about getting an antenna for my cell phone for home use, since i cannot get reception in my home, but i can in the backyard...

the one im interested is the Wilson Cellular Dual-Band Magnetic Mount Antenna http://wilsonelectronics.com

if there are other (inexpensive) alternatives, please suggest them as well. (btw, the boosters you slap on the battery do not work)

thanks in advance, and Happy Holidays to all!

1. Ooh, I will be watching this thread.
I need one too. I get wonderful reception except for the two places I am at the most: work and home. :eyes:

3. mmhmm
i've posted at several cell phone forums (can you believe they really exist? )...however, no one has replied to my posts. so hopefully i would have better luck here....

anywho... i just got my new phone/plan from T mobile, and it has excellent coverage everywhere i go, and even in my backyard. however, i cannot get recption in my home, or frontyard.... so i would figure a repeater antenna would do the trick, since i can get coverage in the backyark...........

btw, i have called T mobile about it, and the CS stated she'll foward my coverage complaint to the techs, to influence them to install another tower nearby.... *crosses fingers* They had installed two towers southern dark county in the last year.....so hopefully they'll install another right next to my home!

2. I had similar problems but they went away when
I changed to a carrier with more coverage in my area.
