Cell phone recommendations
I've been using T-mobile for about 18 months, but my phone is fried. However, I qualify to get a new phone (cuz they don't want me to switch to another provider) so I was wondering, what model phone are y'all using and are you happy with it? Also, I'm not entirely opposed to switching services. I'm going to have to switch numbers anyway. Anyone especially happy with their cell service or think theirs its the pits? Thanks for any info.

1. I just switched
to Alltel. I had AT&T/Cingular...they SUCK. They somehow "forgot" to send me my monthly statement, then called and harrassed me about paying them. Hokai, I'm going to send you random amounts of money out of the goodness of my heart? ::wtf::

I used to have a Nokia, which I LOVED. I just switched to the LG camera phone and so far so good. Good luck!

2. You can keep your number...
Local Number Portability is a government mandate that requires wireless and wireline service providers to allow customers with eligible phone numbers to retain their phone numbers when changing service providers, effective November 24, 2003.

As for me, I've been using Verizon Wireless for over 10 years now... they provide the widest possible cell coverage, IME. As for phones...I'm still using a Motorola StarTAC, so I can't speak to what's currently good as far as hardware goes. Until it dies, I see no need to replace it. So I guess that's an endorsement for Motorola. :)

3. I need a new number anyway
My old number was a Houston number and I've been in Austin now for over 2 months. I've just been dragging my feet about changing it.
