They caught the flamingo and pelican killer! Woo hoo! |
|
This past Halloween weekend, someone broke into the zoo in Decatur and slaughtered the two flamingos and the pelican on exhibit there. It was just announced on the news that they've made an arrest--- a 15 year-old kid. I hope they get this kid some SERIOUS psychological help, whatever else they do with him, because a lot of serial killers start out killing and torturing animals.
On the bright side, area schoolkids have raised enough money for the zoo to replace the birds.

2. I'm glad they caught him. |
|
It was really messed up that he did it in the first place.

4. Hadn't heard about this story |

Very sad. Gotta make you wonder what's wrong with that 15 year old.

5. He's a messed-up puppy. |

I was serious about hoping that they get this kid some heavy-duty psychiatric help.
*sigh*

Or his family - which may actually be the more important question...

They just made the arrest this afternoon, and IL has a juvenile 'shield' law, so unless they try him as an adult, we may never know.

9. Sadly, it could have been worse. |
|
I know a 16 year old who shot and killed his mother, then set the house on fire to hide the murder a couple of months back. I still cry when I think of it.

8. Yes, the kid needs help |
|
That was very kind of those other kids to raise money to get new birds.
Why do people get thrills out of killing animals? Isn't that how serial killers get their start, by killing small animals?

10. That's the way it was with Dumbyass |
|
His thrill was blowing up frogs with firecrackers.

12. And he got "elected" president |

That's even worse (in a way) than the kid who killed those birds.

13. Exactly...He can get away with murder |
|
by calling it "preemptive defense".
