Unwanted Names

How many of you got "stuck" with a name, first or middle, that you absolutely hate? It doesn't really count, but my "stuck" name was my confirmation name of Bridget. I hate it, and thankfully never have to use it.

Mary Elizabeth is fine, though; it's not too rude. But I'm sure that some people might have names they shrink from ever being called, and end up changing their name at some point.

1. I hate my married name

I wish I had kept my maiden name.

8. I don't hate my married name, but I often feel sad that

I didn't find a way to incorporate my maiden name also. After all, it's a part of me.

2. When I was young I disliked my middle name

Well, actually up through early high school or so, I hated my middle name: Derwin. It's definitely rare, but that aspect, which used to make me dislike it so much, actually seems kinda cool now.

But people either hear it and misspell it or read it and mispronounce it.

5. I got stuck with a second middle name which is on my Birth certificate

Ona. It comes from my father's side and I am honored that I have the chance to carry it on in some way BUT with my other two names it just not flow well.

6. My middle name is "Louise" which I used to really dislike,

but when I was advised that the other choice was "Elizabeth Grisetta" (you know how some names get passed down in families? that's one of ours), I started liking Louise a little more.

11. I don't like my first name; it fits me too well

I never liked being Patrick; nowadays only my immediate family and friends of my immediate family call me that.

But I think I really just hated myself. Then I became a Scandinavianphile (I don't know the real name for it) and my name is 100% Scandinavian so I wouldn't want to change it.

13. Martha

my middle name. old-ladyish and somewhat nerdy.
But then came Martha Stewart, and the name suddenly became more popular! But now that she's in prison.....

14. My first name.

My father is Otto David Sauer.
I'm Otto Ross Sauer.

As soon as I can afford it, I will change my name to Ross David Sauer.

Even my parents agree here, we're all sick of my Dad and I getting each other's mail.

15. Being called Hey You sucks

my parents named me Jay to be cruel in a world of Johns and Davids.You ever heard of saint Jay ? no. I was in love with a girl named Jay for a short time,it was odd saying " I love you Jay " so we broke up.
Now Bridget is a fine name,rare and fine.

My name is Ember and I have been mistakenly called "Amber" my whole life. My sisters got off easy with Ann and Molly.
